Grote brand verwoest oude leegstaande woning

IJhorst - Een oude leegstaande woning aan de IJhorsterveldweg is in de nacht van donderdag op vrijdag door brand verwoest. Bij aankomst van het eerste blusvoertuig van Staphorst was de brand al uitslaand.  Mede door gebrek aan water werd al snel opgeschaald naar middelbrand waarop ook het 2e blusvoertuig van Staphorst naar de brand werd gestuurd. Ook een watertankwagen van De Wijk/Koekange werd gealarmeerd om de blusvoertuigen van voldoende bluswater te voorzien.
Na enkele uren was de brand onder controle en werd met behulp van een kraan de laatste resten plat gegooid zodat de brand goed afgeblust kon worden.
Bij de brand is asbest vrijgekomen, maar voor zover bekend heeft dit geen gevaar opgeleverd. Gezien het pand al jaren leeg staat wordt brandstichting niet uitgesloten.
